What is CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is a new, FDA-cleared fat reduction alternative to liposuction for people with a small amount of fat that resists diet and exercise. It is a totally non-invasive, in-office procedure that uses Cryolipolysis to target, freeze, and eradicate fat cells.

Your treatment experience

What to expect

The CoolSculpting fat reduction technique works through a method called Cryolipolysis. It selectively targets and freezes fat cells in the treatment area. The procedure is performed in our office using a small cooling device that is placed on the target area for one hour. After feeling some tightening and pressure initially, the area becomes numb and nearly unnoticeable.

Many of our Grand Rapids, Michigan patients work on their laptops, read, listen to music, and even nap while the procedure takes place. The CoolSculpting system targets and freezes fat cells in the area being treated, thereby destroying the cells, which are then absorbed and cleared naturally through the body. There is little to no downtime and patients typically return to their daily routine immediately, including work and their normal fitness routine.

Results

With each of your Michigan CoolSculpting procedures, patients see an average of 20-25% fat reduction in the treated area. After just three to four weeks, the fat will begin to clear, and your new contour will emerge. You will see the most dramatic improvement within three months. Through your body’s natural metabolic processes, the fat cells in the treated area are gradually removed.

CoolSculpting Michigan

BTL VANQUISH ME™ is a procedure that disrupts fatty cells through the selective heating of adipose tissue. The process leads to fatty cell shrinkage and elimination through your body’s natural processes. It does not limit patient to selection to those with a BMI of under 30. It is intended for more generalized fat reduction.

BTL Exilis Ultra 360 ™ is another body contouring device that simultaneously combines radio frequency and ultrasound to tighten skin and address body concerns. Exilis Ultra 360™ is intended for non-invasive treatment of wrinkles and lines and to provide a temporary reduction in the appearance of cellulite as it helps to tighten skin laxity. It may be used for the face, arms, knees and thighs.

BTL Emsculpt™ is our latest FDA cleared device that uses HIFEM technology to not only burn fat, but also build muscle simultaneously.

Contour your entire body with CoolSculpting

As CoolSculpting technology has advanced, there are new application devices that are contoured for various areas of the body, such as the flanks and thighs. In addition, recent research has shown that multiple treatments with CoolSculpting have resulted in more dramatic results.

For those individuals in Michigan who have more than one area that requires treatment and for those who do not want liposuction, the new protocol of treating multiple areas, often more than once, have demonstrated very positive results.

Is CoolSculpting a replacement for liposuction?

CoolSculpting is not considered a replacement for liposuction or other surgical fat reduction procedures. Studies indicate that the typical amount of fat lost through CoolSculpting in a given area is about 20-25%.

In general, CoolSculpting is best for those who are already close to their ideal body weight but have small, isolated areas of fat such as “love handles,” a ”muffin top,” or back fat that they cannot lose through diet and exercise. Results with CoolSculpting take about two to four months to be fully realized. The results will not be as dramatic as with liposuction.

Am I a candidate?

The ideal candidates for CoolSculpting are Michigan men and women who are close to their ideal body weight but want to address small areas of fat that are resistant to diet and exercise. These are typically individuals who are not surgical candidates or those who opt not to have cosmetic surgery procedures. Patients who are emotionally stable and fully understand what CoolSculpting can and cannot accomplish will be the happiest with their results.
