What are Juvederm XC, Juvederm® Ultra and Juvederm® Ultra Plus?
Juvederm Ultra and Juvederm® Ultra Plus are hyaluronic-based, gel injectable fillers available in our Grand Rapids plastic surgery office. Hyaluronic acid is found in every cell of our body. As fillers, these injections are used to treat mild to moderate facial creases by enhancing soft tissue volume to add fullness and/or smooth wrinkles. They are comprised of non-animal sources, mimic the natural moisture binding qualities of the skin and are safely and naturally re-absorbed over time.
Juvederm Ultra XC is a new formulation which includes lidocaine for enhanced comfort. This new Juvederm formula contains a small amount of local anesthetic make your treatment more comfortable. Juvederm Ultra XC can be used just like regular Juvederm – for correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. In clinical trials with the new formula, 94 percent of participants said Juvederm Ultra XC was less painful than regular Juvederm when injected into the nasolabial fold. To further minimize discomfort, Dr. Ringler can numb the treatment area with local anesthetic.
Why might I consider Juvederm® Ultra and Juvederm® Ultra Plus?
If you desire to look younger, with a natural, non-surgical outcome you may wish to consider injections of Juvederm®. Juvederm® is also the most common agent we place in the lips for an increase in lip volume or to enhance creases around the mouth.
Who chooses Juvederm® Ultra and Juvederm® Ultra Plus?

How do I know what I will look like after my injections?
3D photography of before and after images along with simulation may also be used to help you visualize your post injection results.
