What is Emtone?

Emtone is the newest device from BTL, makers of EmSculpt, and Exilis Ultra. It is the first system developed to resolve the underlying causes of cellulite. Clinical studies have demonstrated that Emtone is effective in the treatment of loose skin. Emtone treatments are performed in the comfort of our office and can be completed in just minutes, with no downtime and no pain or discomfort.

What causes cellulite?

Cellulite is the result of several factors, including:

  • Loss of skin elasticity
  • Enlarged fat chambers
  • Metabolic waste accumulation
  • Rigid collagen fibers

Emtone is the first device that tackles all of these factors, resulting in a dramatic reduction in the appearance of cellulite.

Am I a candidate for Emtone?

As Emtone is entirely safe and FDA-approved, most people are good candidates for Emtone. Emtone improves mild skin laxity, but extremely loose skin may require more. Patients that retain a degree of skin elasticity can achieve optimal results with Emtone. Depending on your skin laxity and texture, you may need more frequent treatments to achieve the results you envision.

What should I expect during an Emtone treatment?

When you arrive at our clinic, you can expect a pleasant, comfortable experience. You will not require anesthesia or numbing cream before your Emtone treatment. Each area of the body will take approximately 15 minutes to treat, and you may choose to smooth several body areas in your appointment. During your treatment, you will feel what many describe as a feeling like a “hot stone massage.” Many of our patients find the experience relaxing and enjoyable. The Emtone device is moved continually in a circular motion over the treatment area. Built-in safety mechanisms prevent the device from emitting too much energy to create any pain or discomfort.

What areas can be treated with Emtone?

Emtone can be used effectively in the following areas:

  • Upper arms
  • Abdomen
  • Back thighs
  • Front thighs
  • Inner thighs
  • Love handles
  • Buttocks

How many Emtone treatments will I need?

Most will need to undergo an initial series of four treatments. These will be carried out twice a week over two weeks. After the first four treatments are completed, maintenance treatments are recommended every six to twelve months to help you maintain your results.

Is there any downtime following an Emtone treatment?

Unlike many other body contouring and skin-tightening procedures, Emtone has no downtime. Directly following your Emtone treatment, your skin may feel warm and look pink for a few minutes. You will be able to go back to your usual activities immediately.

When will I see results from my Emtone treatments?

After your Emtone procedure, new collagen growth is stimulated in your skin, with circulation enhanced. The effect of these processes occurs over time, and you will need some patience – but the results are well worth the short wait! Within a period of several weeks to a month, smoother, tighter skin and a reduced appearance of the unsightly lumps and bumps of cellulite begin to appear.
