Mommy Makeover

Childbirth is a life-changing experience for women. The joy and wonder of a new baby is often offset by feelings that your body does not look or feel as youthful as it once did. Dr. Ringler offers several procedures that can help you regain your figure after having children. Sometimes referred to as a “mommy makeover,” this procedure can help you regain your pre-baby body and boost your attitude with a post-pregnancy treatment plan tailored just for you.

What is a mommy makeover?

A mommy makeover in Michigan can do wonders to help you look and feel like yourself again. A mommy makeover typically involves one or more procedures designed to help women regain their pre-baby figure. Whether you are one year or many past childbearing, Dr. Ringler can help you determine which of our post-pregnancy, body-restoring procedures may be right for you.

Why choose Dr. Ringler?

Dr. Steven L. Ringler is a board-certified plastic surgeon located in Grand Rapids, MI who is internationally recognized for his accomplishments in plastic surgery. With over 35 years of experience performing mommy makeover procedures, you can rest assured that he will restore your pre-baby body and help you look and feel better than ever.

A Mommy Makeover is a significant procedure that requires experience and expertise for maximal results. Dr. Ringler’s use of a transaxillary incision for breast augmentation which leaves no scar on the breast itself, the option of IDEAL Implants for breast augmentation, along with a drainless tummy tuck procedure, all insure that you will have exceptional results with a faster recovery.

The procedure

What to expect

During your private consultation at our Michigan office, you and Dr. Ringler will discuss your post-pregnancy body. Often after childbearing, there is some sagging or volume loss in the breast. Additionally, it is not uncommon to have skin laxity or muscle weakness in the abdomen after it has stretched during pregnancy. Based on your unique concerns, Dr. Ringler will compose a personalized plan that is designed to achieve your goals and restore your figure. In addition to our Michigan mommy makeover, many women take advantage of non-surgical facial services to look and feel refreshed.

Your mommy makeover will be performed under general anesthesia. The most common procedures include:

  • Breast Augmentation. Through an incision hidden within the armpit, Dr. Ringler will place a saline, silicone, or Ideal Structured implant to restore the volume you’ve lost due to breastfeeding.
  • Mastopexy (breast-lift). If you’re struggling with drooping breasts, a lift can elevate the tissue and sculpt a perky chest.
  • Breast Reduction. A breast reduction can remove excess tissue, fat, and skin, all while reshaping a light and feminine chest.
  • Liposuction. Any stubborn pockets of fat that persist after childbearing can be smoothed away with liposuction.
  • Mini-Abdominoplasty. A mini tummy tuck can create a toned lower abdomen, addressing the stubborn “pooch” beneath the navel.
  • Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck). A full tummy tuck can address more substantial issues along the stomach, such as severe muscle laxity, loose skin, and excess flab all with a drainless surgical technique.

Non-surgical procedures may include:

  • CoolSculpting®. CoolSculpting is a revolutionary non-surgical body contouring treatment that freezes away unwanted fat.
  • Exilis Ultra™. This non-surgical procedure reduces fat and tightens loose skin throughout the face and body.
  • Emsculpt™. This non-surgical procedure builds muscle and reduces fat simultaneously
  • Cellutone™. Helps reduce cellulite for a smoother appearance.
