Advances in CoolSculpting – Grand Rapids
Those who have become accustomed to the benefits of non-surgical body contouring, may be interested to learn about the latest advances in CoolSculpting. If you’re not familiar with Coolsculpting, it is a non-surgical treatment that is performed in the office and freezes fat in localized areas. Over several months, about a 20-22% reduction of the fat cells occur as the fat cells die off and are eliminated naturally through the body. There is no downtime with CoolSculpting and you are able to return to your daily activities immediately.CoolSculpting isn’t a weight loss treatment, but rather addresses stubborn areas of fat that are resistant to diet and exercise. For some patients, multiple treatments provide improved results.
The original CoolSculpting technique took about 1 hour per treatment area. Although most patients remained comfortable throughout the treatment, others felt slight discomfort as the device pulled the fat into the vacuum device. The abdomen and flanks were the main areas treated due to the footprint of the original applicator. Although we have remained impressed with our original CoolSculpting technology, the latest CoolSculpting applicators have made a significant difference in patient comfort and treatment time. Newer CoolSculpting applicators include those that comfortably treat the thighs and more recently, the chin area. The latest applicator for the abdomen and flanks, CoolAdvantage, has a wider footprint and cuts treatment time to just 35 minutes. This is quite a benefit for those who are treating several areas. Patients have also reported that the newest applicator is more comfortable than the previous device.
At the Center for Aesthetics and Plastic Surgery, we offer the latest CoolSculpting applicators as well as other non-surgical fat reduction techniques such as Vanquish for all over body contouring, and Kybella, injections that reduce fat underneath the chin.
